About

Hello. I’m Aaron Lam and I live in Victoria, BC, Canada.

I took my first photograph when I was seven. Since then, I’ve come to believe that that the value of photography lies in its ability to tell a story. The photographer presents an image, which must be questioned, pondered and decoded in order to better understand the world we live in and the people we live with. As a result, I’ve cultivated a penchant for travelling and a sharp, photojournalistic style. My photography speaks on my behalf about the people and places I’ve been to. Thank you for listening.

As for music, I started playing piano since I was six. During high school, I quit piano and switched to percussion and guitar. More importantly though, I spent all my free blocks in the library reading about the world of music. I was captivated by the idea of influence and how one musician can sound like another despite a difference in genre. Consequently, I gained a profound understanding of the patterns, shapes and techniques that formulate today’s popular music. I started composing and producing music again and found some success through various blog features. My sound is a collision of hip hop, bossa nova, jazz, classical and electronica. For each different type of music I create, I use a different name like “The Lam” or “Kodama.”

Thank you for visiting me.

Much Love,
Aaron Lam
